ENTJ

Dumb and Dumber“, “Ace Ventura“, “Saturday Night Live“, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind“, yeah I know I can’t list all of them here, but you get the point. Jim Carrey brings his talent to the table, no matter what the character nor the script, Jim Carrey is game. “Capable” wouldn’t do this personality type any justice, so read on and I’ll tell you what that is.

“Relentless” would probably be more fitting, after all were talking about the ENTJ here. Jim Carrey, an ENTJ – no not an ESFP or an ENTP but a relentless ENTJ, with that dominating, Te we call Extraverted Thinking.

Look I know what you’re thinking, An ENTJ? Not the jovial entertaining ESFP or the intergalactic creative ENTP? Yeah, Jim Carrey is an ENTJ. ENTJ’s aren’t always the CEO, Entrepreneur, Top Executive, Director types. ENTJ’s can be whoever they want, a perfect type to be when you’re Jim Carrey.

If you haven’t already figured out what holds objective Te in place, it’s Introverted Intuition. In Jim Carrey’s case, it’s making people laugh, engaging the minds of the masses (Te) and then fine tuning this demand with Ni (Introverted Intuition). One can really lose themselves when so many persona’s are taken up, exhausting this user if not losing track of itself.

“I have no limits. I cannot be contained because I am the container.”

Jim Carrey

Extraverted Thinking can really take off – once the engine’s running and the process is set in motion, efficiently and effectively. Better yet, we can even quickly see results of it, this flames the ENTJ ego even more. Question is, does it have intuitions (Ni) about its impact and implications on the world, itself? Even more importantly, does it have the right intuitions.

Yes, I know that’s a tall order for Jim Carrey who just loves performing. But this is what I think made him mad, some call it enlightenment, still others just call Jim Carrey has gone crazy.

Psychotic is a bit of a stretch, but were talking about “Team Extraverted Thinking and Introverted Intuition” here really losing control. Getting sucked into the abyss of egodom, yeah Kingdom but Ego + Dom. Losing sight of Fi, Introverted Feeling, it’ll start feeling bad but not at the same time, because of ego (Te). Put simply, it’s disillusioned. The cognition I’ve personally stamped as “The Moral Compass” goes haywire.

“I love playing ego and insecurity combined.”

Jim Carrey

Placed fourth on the ENTJ stack, is Fi as iterated earlier. Introverted Feeling wants to feel good about itself. Not only that, it wants to the right thing. It wants to feel good DOING the right thing. But for the ENTJ, this is the inferior function – it’s way down the stack. It can be seen by egotistic Te but Fi for an ENTJ can be completely buried underneath all the praise. For what?

“I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it’s not the answer.”

Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey, we haven’t forgotten you – were looking out for your Ni, Introverted Intuition and your Fi, Introverted Feeling. But whose looking out, well it’s Ni parents job too, not child Se or ego Te with it’s silky cape. But Ni parent has lost a grip on reality.

“There is no me. There’s just things happening.”

Jim Carrey

Yeah this came splurging out of Jim Carrey’s mouth on several interviews. I call it the Introverted Intuition abyss – it’s on the wrong train and for parent Ni in ENTJ, it’s supposed to know where it’s going. But Ni in Jim Carrey’s case, has gone nihilistic. The meaning in which direction to go just keeps going until there’s no meaning. Well that’s my guess. Manageable still, maybe? But for Jim Carrey, stardom is a complete high even for an ENTJ.

Extraverted Sensing, yeah I’m tackling the child function last although it’s third on the stack. Reason being, Se would be the most obvious of them all though most would call this the private function, I disagree especially for Se, Extraverted Sensing. Se child in Jim Carrey, is where the playful comedian comes out – the ability to sense the energy from an environment. And then make adjustments on presentation – till it’s solid and the threads are all patterned out. The action, reaction loop when the audience is captivated by the relentless ENTJ. But what we got here is a relentless actor and comedian, Jim Carrey.

Expanding on child Se, Extraverted Sensing – where do you think Jim Carrey got painting from? It’s soothing, it’s calming but from what I’ve gathered in Jim Carrey, Introverted Intuition has lost a grip on reality. It’s time for even, childish Se to step in and start painting – start finding balance once again. And balanced it now is for Jim Carrey whose been there, done that. Se child says, let’s try something new.
